เอแกลขอแชร์ประสบการณ์การสร้าง Daybed ที่ไม่เหมือนที่เคยทำมา เมื่อเอแกลได้มีโอกาสร่วมสร้างเฟอร์นิเจอร์กับโรงแรม The Sarojin ณ เขาหลัก อำเภอตะกั่วป่า จังหวัดพังงา ที่ๆมีวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นที่สวยงาม ผู้คนน่ารัก มีบรรยากาศความเป็นไทยค่อนข้างสูง แถมธรรมชาติที่ยังคงสมบูรณ์
เมื่อเริ่มต้นก่อสร้างโรงแรม คุณ Kate Kemp (เจ้าของ) ได้กล่าวปณิธานและความตั้งใจที่จะรังสรรค์โรงแรมแห่งนี้ไว้ว่า “While anyone can build a hotel with bricks and mortar, it is putting the soul into it that truly makes a hotel special and memorable”
หรือแปลเป็นไทยได้ว่า “ในขณะที่คนทั่วไปสร้างโรงแรมด้วยอิฐและปูน แต่แท้จริงแล้วนั้น มันคือการใส่จิตวิญญาณเข้าไปในสิ่งเหล่านั้น เพื่อทำให้โรงแรมมันพิเศษและน่าจดจำ” เมื่อเริ่มดำเนินการสร้างโรงแรม ทางดีไซน์เนอร์ผู้ออกแบบโครงการนี้ ได้แวะมาที่โชว์รูมของเรา และมีความสนใจในตัวเฟอร์นิเจอร์ Daybed ที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ (Iconic) ของเราเป็นอย่างมาก
โดยให้เหตุผลว่า เตียง Daybed 4 เสาจีนของเรามีคาแรคเตอร์ที่ค่อนข้างชัดเจนและตรงคอนเซปต์ของทางโรงแรม อีกทั้งมีดีเทลที่สื่อถึงกลิ่นอายแฝงความออเรียนทอลไทยจีนอยู่ด้วย แต่ทั้งนี้ ที่พิเศษไปกว่านั้น ทางดีไซน์เนอร์อยากให้เตียงตัวนี้ มีม่านที่สวยงาม และสามารถถอดซักได้ ซึ่งทางเราก็ยินดีปรับแบบและการผลิตให้มีรางเหล็กซ่อนอยู่ข้างหลังคานไม้ ทำให้สามารถถอดตัวม่านออกมาซักและรักษาสภาพในการใช้งานต่อไปได้
ซึ่งกว่าจะมาได้มาเป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์ชิ้นนี้ที่อยู่ในห้องของโรงแรมดังภาพ แน่นอนว่าทางผู้ออกแบบและเจ้าของ ก็ต้องเฟ้นหาผู้ผลิตที่ดีที่สุด เราเองถูกนำไปเปรียบเทียบกับผู้ผลิตเจ้าอื่นๆด้วย แต่สุดท้าย ต้องขอขอบคุณที่ทางโรงแรมที่ตัดสินใจเลือกให้เราเป็นผู้รังสรรค์ชิ้นงาน Daybed ชิ้นนี้ เพราะการฟินิชชิ่งและดีเทลที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์หนึ่งเดียวเฉพาะของเอแกลเท่านั้น ปัจจุบัน ที่ The Sarojin มีเฟอร์นิเจอร์ Daybed ของเราอยู่ทั้งหมดถึง 7 หลังด้วยกัน ในห้อง J-Pool Suite
ถือว่าเป็นอีกหนึ่งชิ้นงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์แบบออกแบบเฉพาะกิจ(Customized) ที่เอแกลรู้สึกเป็นเกียรติอย่างมากที่ได้ร่วมสร้างสรรค์ Daybed ในสไตล์ที่เข้ากับตัวตนของโรงแรม The Sarojin ณ เขาหลัก แห่งนี้

AGAL would like to share our experience of creating a Daybed like never before in our history, as we had an opportunity to take part in creating furniture for The Sarojin Hotel in Khaolak, Takuapa district, Phang Nga. A destination with magnificent local culture, lovely people, rich in Thai authentic character with its nature still plentiful.
The hotel owner was determined to create a distinctive memorable destination as in their words, “While anyone can build a hotel with bricks and mortar, it is putting the soul into it that truly makes a hotel special and memorable”. During the beginning of its construction, the hotel designer visited AGAL showroom, and was very interested in our Daybed.
Reason was that our Chinese four pillars daybed had a distinct, straightforward character with details delineated Oriental Thai-Chinese sentiment. In extension to its charm, the designer wished to adorn the bed with flowing curtain removable for cleaning. A request to which we were gladly responded by adding behind the bed beams, a hidden rail that allowed the curtain to be removed for cleaning, preserving its service life.
Until the final result presenting in the picture, there was a comparison between designs from other furniture designers. But eventually, we appreciated that the hotel chose us to create this Daybed, as such detailing and finishing was exclusive to AGAL. To this day, The Sarojin occupies up to 7 Daybeds from us, available in its J-Pool Suite.
This was another customized project in which AGAL was very honored to take part and created Daybeds that portrayed the identity of this Khaolak located Sarojin Hotel.
Because telling your character though design is our priority.
