ตู้ระแนงและชั้นวางของ Frank Collection นี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจการออกแบบมาจากสถาปนิคระดับ Iconic คือ Frank Lloyd Wright ซึ่งมีผลงานระดับ masterpiece มากมายอาทิเช่น Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum 1959, Fallingwater 1939, Unity Temple 1908, Frank Llyod Wright Home and Studio 1889
สิ่งที่น่าสนใจอีกประการหนึ่งคือ แนวคิดของเขาที่เชื่อว่างานสถาปัตยกรรม งานตกแต่งภายใน และ เครื่องเรือนเฟอร์นิเจอร์ในแต่ละโปรเจค ต้องหลอมรวมและออกแบบให้กลมกลืนเป็น concept เดียวกัน โดยเขาอธิบายแนวคิดนี้โดยใช้คำว่า Organic Architecture
เพื่อที่จะบรรลุเป้าหมายนี้ เราจะเห็นว่าผลงานออกแบบบ้านของ Wright จะมีเฟอร์นิเจอร์ เครื่องเรือน ตู้ เก้าอี้ต่างๆ ที่ตั้งใจออกแบบมาเฉพาะสำหรับสเปซนั้นๆ โดยลักษณะเด่นทั้งในงานสถาปัตยกรรม และงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ของ Wright คือ การใช้รูปทรงเรขาคณิตเรียบง่าย ตรงไปตรงมา และการตัดกันหรือซ้อนทับกันของระนาบในรูปแบบต่างๆ ซึ่งรูปแบบนี้หากเป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์ลอยตัว เมื่อนำมาจัดวางเรียงกันเป็นกลุ่ม ยังสามารถสร้าง element กึ่งงานสถาปัตยกรรมในสเปซอินทีเรียที่เขาออกแบบมาไว้แล้ว
Collection Frank นี้ทางเอแกลได้นำลักษณะรูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยมเรขาคณิต มากำหนดสัดส่วนในรูปแบบเชิงโมดูล เพื่อให้สามารถวางเรียงเป็นกลุ่มต่อๆกันได้ เพียงวางเรียงซ้ำกันหรือจะสลับกันไปมาก็สามารถเป็น element ใหม่ๆ ที่สร้างรูปทรงเรียบง่าย สามารถเข้ากับอินทีเรียรูปแบบต่างๆได้ไม่ยากนัก
ในเชิงงานฝีมือช่าง ถึงแม้ว่าจะเป็นรูปทรงเรียบง่าย ช่องว่างแบบซ้ำๆกันนี้ ช่างไม้กลับยิ่งต้องมีความละเอียดแม่นยำในเรื่องระยะ และด้วยความที่เฟอร์นิเจอร์เป็นโมดูลที่สามารถนำมาต่อกันได้ ทำให้เสาของตู้ต้องได้ฉาก ไม่โก่งหรือคดงอ ต่างๆเหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นทักษะของช่างในการเลือกและแปรรูปไม้ เอาใจใส่ จึงได้ผลงานออกมาเรียบง่ายแต่แฝงไปด้วยความปราณีตตามแบบฉบับ AGAL

Collection Frank
This Frank Collection featuring a slatted cabinet and shelf was inspired by the iconic style of Frank Lloyd Wright, the renowned architect whose several pieces were recognized as masterpieces e.g. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum 1959, Fallingwater 1939, Unity Temple 1908, Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio 1889.
One of the notable quality in Wrights’s works was his approach of blending every aspect of the projects either the architecture, interior design or furniture choices into one cohesive concepts. The approach of which was described by the man as an Organic Architecture.
In pursuit of such result, we could notice in Wright’s work the furnitures including cabinets and chairs custom made for that particular space, with distinguishable character of using simple straightforward geometric shapes forming into intersecting or overlapping layers. The movable furnitures of such theme were also pre-determined to be able to form a continuous architecture-like visual result when arranged together in multiple pieces in their interrelationship with his previously designed interior environment.
In this Frank Collection, AGAL had brought the iconic rectangular form into designing the modular system, enabling a continuous formation. The repetition of identical module series or a switch between the two can create clean shape element easy to fit into various decoration style.
In craftsmanship aspect, though seemingly having simple shapes, it required high precision from the carpenter to deliver modular pieces that would actually attached together perfectly and form a clean repeating row. The cabinet frame must remain in right angle without bending or twisting which required the carpenters’s skill of selecting and processing wood panels. These dedication resulted in AGAL’s exclusive delicacy and simplicity.
