Let AGAL walk you through a meticulous carpentry process by the hands of our highly experienced carpenters, today a wooden lacework, a cabinet carved into a grid pattern in both its front and back. See a step by step of what it takes to create such exquisite antique-style furniture.

1. เริ่มต้นต้องเตรียมไม้เส้น สี่เหลี่ยมขนาดยาว ไม้ที่นำมาใช้ต้องตรงตามมาตราฐานของแบรนด์ที่ได้วางไว้ จากนั้นนำไม้เส้นที่ได้มาวางบนแท่นเครื่อง Router ซึ่งจะเห็นได้ว่าในส่วนของเครื่อง Router จะมีหัวคล้ายสว่านที่ตีไม้เป็นร่องสี่เหลี่ยมดังภาพ

1. Starting off with preparing a long, rectangle shape wood panel in the precise size required by the brand’s design standard. Place the wood bar on the “Router” machine on which you can see a drill mounted, this is for cutting dado slots as shown in picture.

2. เพื่อให้ได้ช่องสี่เหลี่ยมที่เว้นช่องไฟเสมอกันอย่างสวยงาม ช่างไม้ต้องมีแบบแม่เป็นต้นแบบในการตีสี่เหลี่ยมบนไม้ เห้นได้จากภาพที่มีไม้สี่เหลี่ยมวางอยู่หน้าตัวจับของไม้ชิ้นนั้น ๆ ซึ่งไม้ที่วางอยู่หน้าตัวจับจะทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวบอกระยะความห่างของช่องสี่เหลี่ยม ซึ่งจะทำแบบนี้ซ้ำ ๆ กันไปเรื่อย ๆ จนได้ช่องสี่เหลี่ยมครบตามที่แบรนด์วางไว้

2. In order to have precisely consistent space between each dado slot, the carpenter needed to have a jig serving as a template for cutting dado slots. You can see a jig, or a rectangle wood piece rested on top of each wood panel, this jig is to help define the space between each dado slot, which would be cut repeatedly until obtained the amount of slot required in the design.

3. When created enough dado slots, the carpenter assembled these carved panels together in a crisscross pattern. When crossed multiple times, it created a grid patterned piece which then would be framed and made into a cabinet door. This process needed a very delicate craftsmanship and tremendous skill. Another essential point was to use some strong teak wood material, otherwise the crossing might appear bended which led to a weak structure that would not be able to layer.
